Candice has enjoyed a long and successful career as an art historian, writer and curator at the National Gallery of Australia, Australian National Maritime Museum and Queensland Art Gallery.
She is the author of two books on the nineteenth century landscape painter Eugene von Guerard, and numerous other scholarly publications on various aspects of nineteenth century Australian art and society. She was Senior Research Assistant for the Dictionary of Australian Artists (ed. Joan Kerr, Oxford University Press) at the Power Institute, University of Sydney, and a specialist consultant for Sotheby’s Australia from 1997 to 2009. She writes the occasional article on Australian contemporary art and architecture.
Candice has a PhD in Australian Literature from the University of Sydney for which she received the Eva Veronika Vidak Memorial Prize. She lives in Sydney.
Her first novel, The Longing, was published by Random House in February 2012.
